Fostering Musical Understanding

Founded in 2003, The Cross Timbers Youth Orchestra is a non-profit IRS 501(c)3 organization for committed young musicians in the North Texas area. CTYO has three orchestras the Cypress, Live Oak and Guitar that are organized to best nurture all levels of musical ability and experience. The students are encouraged to learn, exercise their talents and have fun through weekly rehearsals, sectional coaching and performance opportunities.

The CTYO is open to all children from elementary through grade 12 in Collin and surrounding counties that currently participate in a school band and/or orchestra program or who study privately if a school orchestra program is not offered at their respective school. Auditions are required for placement and held by appointment. Cross Timbers Youth Orchestra is a tuition-based program.
